Get to face the active lava of Nyiragongo, the lava lakes with huge volumes of molten lava which forms in
the vents or craters of volcanoes. You get to see the lava of nyiragongo, lava lakes as well as vents of
volcanoes. The lava fills the crater following an eruption or when a new vent erupts for many days leaving
a crater that fills with lave. Mount Nyiragongo is part of the Virunga volcanic chain that extends the border
between the DRC and Rwanda. Mount Nyirangogo is part of the virunga volcanic chain that extends the
border between the DRC and Rwanda. It’s one of the five major lava lakes that have formed since the
1980s and it has remained in existence for many years.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and face the active lava of Nyiragongo
Upon your arrival at Kigali international Airport and transfer to Goma in DRC on a smooth road through
the beautiful country of Rwanda’s countryside. Have an overnight at Vip Palace1/Linda Hotel Goma/
Bethanie Hotel. Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Mount Nyiragongo Volcano Hike
Have breakfast followed by the transfer to Virunga National Park office for your briefing and start
ascending the active volcano. The hike takes 3 to 4 hours depending on your fitness. Have an overnight
on the top of the tents of the Volcano.

Day 3: Descend from Nyiragongo and transfer back to Kigali.
Today after having a cup of coffee, descend the volcano and arrive Goma town for lunch, in the
afternoon transfer to Kigali- Rwanda for your onward flight.
